Cheryl first started teaching in 1990 whilst she was working full time in taxation law. Having recently finished dancing she did some volunteer teaching work with Julie Glinski School of Dance (Albury/Wodonga) and choreographed the school's year end performance of The Nutcracker. In January 2002, (after having had three children) Cheryl started her own ballet school in Canberra (Canberra Festival Ballet School) and grew the business from what began as four hours per week to two studios with each running over 45 hours per week. The family moved to Melbourne in January 2012 for two of their children to take up places with The Australian Ballet School. Her own ballet school became increasingly difficult to manage from a distance and so she sold the school in July/August 2013

Since then Cheryl has been casually teaching, mentoring, coaching and choreographing for a number of dance schools. Currently dividing her time between Brisbane and Melbourne she is available for private coaching by appointment while in Melbourne.
